How Many Meals Can a 100Ah Battery Cook?

One of the most common questions we get from van lifers, overlanders, and off-grid enthusiasts is simple: how far can my battery take me when it comes to cooking?
The Setup
We tested with a standard 100Ah lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery at 12V, which gives us roughly 1,200Wh of usable energy. We ran each RoadSizz product through multiple cooking sessions to measure real-world consumption.
RoadSizz Air (240W)
At 240 watts, the RoadSizz Air consumes about 240Wh per hour of use. A typical air frying session takes 15-25 minutes, meaning each cooking session uses roughly 60-100Wh. On a full 100Ah battery, that's 12-20 cooking sessions before you need to recharge.
RoadSizz Lunch (100W)
The lunch box is the most efficient product in our lineup. At 100W, heating a meal takes about 30-45 minutes and consumes 60-90Wh. You could heat 13-20 meals on a single charge.
RoadSizz Grill (240W)
The griddle draws 240W but most cooking sessions are 10-20 minutes — searing a steak, making pancakes, cooking eggs. That's 50-100Wh per session. Expect 12-24 sessions per full battery.
The Bottom Line
A 100Ah lithium battery can realistically power 3-4 days of cooking for one person, or 1-2 days for a couple — all without any recharging. Add a 200W solar panel, and you'll likely never run out of cooking power on a normal day.

The goal was never to replace a home kitchen. It's to make sure you never have to eat cold food on the road again.
