Product: Roadsizz 24V Electric Grill
Testing Period: 7 Days
Tester: Alex T. – Long-Haul Truck Driver
Location: China
Driving Experience: 10 Years

Why I Joined the Beta Test?

I've been driving long-haul routes across the U.S. for more than 16 years. Like many truck drivers, I've relied on truck stops, fast food, and microwave meals for most of my trips.

When Roadsizz invited me to join their beta testing program, I had one simple question:

Could a 24V electric grill realistically replace restaurant meals during a normal work week?

After using it almost every day for one week, here's my honest experience.

My Daily Usage

During the testing period, I used the grill for both breakfast and dinner whenever my schedule allowed.

Foods I Cooked

  • Ribeye steaks

  • Chicken breast

  • Eggs

  • Bacon

  • Burgers

  • Sausages

  • Salmon

  • Bell peppers

  • Mushrooms

Average Cooking Time

  • Breakfast: 15–20 minutes

  • Dinner: 20–30 minutes

Power Source

  • Standard 24V truck power outlet

What I Liked Most

1. It Cooks More Evenly Than I Expected

One of my biggest concerns was whether a portable 24V grill could cook food evenly.

To my surprise, it performed very well.

The steaks developed a nice sear without burning one side, burgers cooked evenly, and vegetables retained good texture instead of becoming overly soft.

Rating: ★★★★★ (9.5/10)

2. Simple Enough After a 10-Hour Driving Shift

After a long day behind the wheel, the last thing I want is complicated cooking equipment.

Using the Roadsizz grill was straightforward:

  • Plug it in

  • Allow it to preheat

  • Start cooking

No propane.

No charcoal.

No complicated setup.

That simplicity made it easy to use almost every day.

3. Healthier Than Eating at Truck Stops

During the two-week test, I estimate I skipped around 5 restaurant meals.

Instead, I prepared fresh food using ingredients I had packed before the trip.

Not only did I save money, but I also found myself eating more protein and vegetables instead of fried fast food.

It made my meals feel more balanced and satisfying.

4. Cleanup Was Quick

Cleaning was much easier than I expected.

After the grill cooled slightly, I simply wiped the cooking surface with paper towels followed by a damp cloth.

The entire cleanup process usually took less than four minutes, which is important when you're on the road.

Areas for Improvement

No product is perfect, and I shared several suggestions with the Roadsizz team during the beta test.

1. Adjustable Temperature Would Make It More Versatile

Currently, the grill operates at a fixed temperature.

While this works well for most foods, different ingredients benefit from different heat levels.

For example:

  • Bacon and steaks cook best at higher temperatures.

  • Vegetables, fish, and sandwiches are easier to prepare at lower temperatures to avoid overcooking.

Suggestion

Add adjustable temperature control or preset cooking modes for different types of food.

2. A Temperature Display Would Improve the User Experience

As a first-time user, I wasn't always sure when the grill had reached its optimal cooking temperature.

A visual indicator would make the cooking process more intuitive.

Suggestion

Add either:

  • A "Ready" indicator light, or

  • A digital temperature display showing the current heating status.

3. A Longer Power Cable Would Be Helpful

Truck cab layouts vary, and the 24V outlet isn't always positioned close to where drivers prefer to cook.

A little more cable length would provide greater flexibility.

Suggestion

Offer:

  • A longer standard power cable, or

  • An optional extension cable designed specifically for the grill.

Additional Suggestions for Future Versions

If I could help design the next generation of the Roadsizz grill, I'd suggest adding:

  • Adjustable temperature control

  • A preheat indicator or digital temperature display

  • A carrying and storage bag

  • A silicone cooking mat for easier cleanup

  • A recipe guide created specifically for truck drivers

  • QR codes linking to quick cooking tutorial videos

Overall Experience

After one week, the Roadsizz 24V Electric Grill became more than just a piece of travel equipment—it became part of my daily routine.

Instead of treating it like a camping gadget that I'd only use occasionally, I found myself looking forward to cooking my own meals whenever I parked for the night.

The biggest benefit wasn't just saving money. It was having the freedom to enjoy fresh, home-style meals without depending on truck stop restaurants.

Yes.

The Roadsizz 24V Electric Grill exceeded my expectations in everyday use. While there are a few features I'd love to see in future versions—such as adjustable temperature control and a digital temperature display—it already offers a practical and convenient way to prepare fresh meals on the road.

For long-haul truck drivers, RV travelers, and anyone who spends extended time away from home, it's a reliable companion that makes eating well on the road both easier and more enjoyable.

I look forward to the 24v electric griddle being launched as soon as possible.
